COURSE OVERVIEW
The task of driving in an increasingly volatile environment like Nigeria requires additional skills beyond the act of driving itself. A driver needs to be proactive by taking cognizant of both safety and importantly security in any environment he/she is in.
A few years back, the numbers of Road Traffic Incidents (RTI) recorded were majorly as a result of vehicular accidents and in some cases armed robberies. However, in recent times, traveling within cities and across states in Nigeria has become a nightmare for both the drivers and passengers because of increases in crime rates such as smash and grab while in traffic gridlock, carjacking, attacks by bandits, kidnapping, robbery by passengers, etc.
This program is put together to enhance safety in driving through security education. It is designed to increase situational awareness amongst drivers and how to react to any adverse situation.
The training modules are carefully selected to identify those common errors or things that are often considered insignificant by most drivers which ultimately cause major incidents. For instance, some of them are:
Why does an armed escort fail?
How does a driver identify an impending danger by merely looking at people or an environment in a seemingly quiet situation?
Why must interstate travel terminate at 1900hrs?
How to prevent being a smash and grab victim while in road traffic?
There are 6 modules in this course with our in-house video on smash and grab inclusive to further enhance learning and how to prevent crime.
Course participants: Professional drivers (commercial, corporate, riders), self-drive individuals, security drivers, journey managers, etc.
Duration: 2 Days
Learners support: The course facilitators will be available to guide learners through the entire program.
Certification: A Certificate of Attendance is issued at the end of the course. This is upon successful completion of the course.
